The Return of the King

Poktori is home!!! The vet on special duty to investigate Poktori called me the evening before yesterday, saying that the bloodtest was all positive: no signs of kidney or liver failure, but she admitted to having been worried. Another call from the quarantine centre the next morning confirmed that Poktori was his old self again: "he's trying to lick and headbutt us all the time". After all that, today the day had finally arrived: release... Dear friends Dane and Heajin were there, of course, to help me get the big man out. Candice, the girl who had sung Happy Birthday with me for him last week, escorted the little fella out of the prison gates towards the car: "he was one of our favourites; we've all said goodbye to him and given him a big hug". Dane took us all home within no time, and so after a long month that included two some 10-hour flights and a long drive to Canberra, Poktori finally set foot on Ozy ground. He then inspected our parts of the house, and admired the garden. It is 20:30 when I write this, and Poktori is standing on my desk, inspecting the lamp next to me. He looks happy, and he seems to like it here. I am, of course, over the moon so I celebrate our reunion with a piece of nougat from our dearest that I had safed for a special occasion. In a few hours Poktori and I are going to watch the WC opening ceremony together in bed: he's managed to get here just in time... RHM
